New York, NY – Working in Support of Education (W!se) is pleased to announce it has received a generous grant from T. Rowe Price Foundation to support its educational programs. W!se’s mission is to improve economic mobility through financial literacy & college and career readiness.
Among the programs to be supported by the grant is the W!se Institute. This award-winning program provides seminars and work experiences for students at New York City Public High Schools. The eight-week seminars, conducted by volunteer professionals from a variety of industries, as well as workshops and job shadows, introduce students to career pathways and knowledge/skills to help them become competitive candidates for college and employment.
“The T. Rowe Price Foundation is committed to enhancing the communities where we work. Our goal is to be actively engaged with local partners to drive tangible results with an emphasis on arts and culture, human services, and education. We see education, in particular, as a critical pathway to opportunity and future success. We are proud to partner with W!se on this important endeavor to benefit students of New York City Public High Schools,” said John Brothers, President of the T. Rowe Price Foundation.
As an exciting part of the new partnership, students will visit the New York City offices of T. Rowe Price and attend a series of workshops delivered by volunteers from the company. The workshops developed by the company will help students improve their resume writing and interviewing skills, explore careers and learn about data science.
“We are delighted to welcome the T. Rowe Price Foundation as a new partner and very grateful to receive this generous grant,” said David Anderson, President and CEO. “We are especially thankful for the commitment of T. Rowe Price employees to volunteer their time to host students from W!se Institute schools.”
