Ex-Convict Nabbed for Bootlegging Operation in Laayoune
Laayoune – In a successful operation carried out on Thursday night, National Security forces in Laayoune apprehended a nationally sought-after ex-convict allegedly involved in the illicit preparation and trafficking of spirits, as revealed by a security source.
The 44-year-old suspect was caught red-handed with possession and distribution of bootleg liquor, the source detailed. A search of his residence yielded a significant haul, including 440 liters of the illicit beverage, 4 tonnes of liquid fermentation products, 24 barrels, 16 pressure cookers, 10 gas cylinders, and 14 stoves.
According to the same source, a cross-reference within the National Security database unveiled that the accused is the subject of two national arrest warrants, both related to his suspected involvement in separate cases concerning the unauthorized sale of alcoholic beverages.
The individual in question has been taken into custody, awaiting further investigation supervised by the competent prosecutor. This probe aims to unravel the intricacies of the case, shedding light on all criminal activities attributed to the suspect.
