Egyptian Delegation Explores Moroccan Expertise in Accounts Compilation
Rabat – Morocco’s High Planning Commission (HCP) recently played host to a delegation from Egypt in Rabat, as part of a study tour aimed at understanding best practices in compiling national economic data.
The delegation, consisting of officials from the Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) and the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, engaged in discussions facilitated by the Middle East Technical Assistance Center (METAC) of the International Monetary Fund, as detailed in an official statement from the HCP.
During the study visit, focused sessions delved into the implementation of the System of National Accounts SCN2008. The discussions also covered methodological practices for developing annual, quarterly, and regional national economic reports, the same source further specified.
The delegation took advantage of the visit to familiarize themselves with sources and methods for estimating the informal sector’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Both parties expressed satisfaction with the discussions and shared the ambition to strengthen collaboration on various topics related to methodological innovations in national economic reporting.
